Mayor Sharief presents "Broward Means Business" Proclamation to Owners, Lawrence & Toula Amanna of Flashback Diner

I had the privilege of recognizing Lawrence and Toula Amanna, Owners of Flashback Diner through my Broward Means Business Program. Flashback Diner has been family owned since 1990 and has locations in Hallandale Beach, Davie and Boca Raton. The Flashback Diner employs 300, many of whom have been with the company for decades. Flashback Diner owns the restaurant properties and were acquired and renovated by utilizing programs through the Small Business Administration (SBA) and local Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). Ms. Amanna owns and operates other establishments in the South Florida area. The Deerfield Beach Café is recognized as the only privately owned Gold LEED Certified restaurant in Broward County and Marty’s Bar on Andrew’s Avenue is the oldest bar in Broward. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA: That the Board hereby designates Tuesday, June 6, 2017, as "BROWARD MEANS BUSINESS – FLASHBACK DINER DAY" in Broward County, Florida.  Mayor Barbara Sharief
