In 1987, Congress declared March as National Women's History Month in perpetuity. Every year, a special Presidential Proclamation is issued honoring the extraordinary achievements of American women including those who fight all forms of discrimination against women.  On Tuesday, Broward Commissioners will present proclamations to nine women whose accomplishments fit this year’s theme “Nevertheless, she persisted.”  The women come from diverse backgrounds and experiences.  Among them is an elected official, lawyers, an author and health care executives who have challenged the status quo and championed change for women in the workplace.  See who they are at Broward.org/statuswomen.
