January 25th 2018 I attended the Inaugural Broward County Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Dinner at Casa D’Angelo Ristorante to raise money for this amazing Organization. Since its inception in 1997 Women of Tomorrow has touched the lives of more than 15,000 high school girls in South Florida, Detroit and Philadelphia and have a 94% graduation rate among an at-risk population and nearly $6 million in college scholarships have been awarded. I had the privilege of meeting Abby Brown who was in the program in 2008 at Stranahan High School. Abby stayed in the program and was the first in her family to graduate high school and was awarded a college scholarship where she earned her LSN and then earned her RN and became a nurse. Abby is married and has a 3 year old child. She credits her success to the Women of Tomorrow Program and her Mentors. Abby is giving back as a Mentor at her high school and recently became a Realtor. She has also mentored and helped 2 of her siblings not only graduate high school but they are also enrolled in College. To learn more: www.womenoftomorrow.com
