Residents are encouraged to wear denim or denim ribbons on Tuesday, April 16th, for Denim Day in Broward County. By wearing denim, residents will help increase awareness of sexual violence and child abuse while promoting greater understanding and prevention.  In support, Broward County Commissioners will present a proclamation to community partners that collaborate with the Nancy J. Cotterman Center (Broward County’s only certified Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center), during the Broward County Commission Meeting on April 16, 2019.  The presentation will recognize April as Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month and April 16th as Denim Day.  Broward.org/NancyJCottermanCenter.
