Hurricane Preparedness Week is May 5-11, 2019. While South Floridians are most vulnerable to hurricanes and other tropical disturbances between June 1st and November 30th, it’s critical to start determining risks, developing an evacuation plan, assembling disaster supplies, getting an insurance checkup, strengthening homes, helping neighbors, and completing a written safety plan. It only takes one storm to change your life. Broward County will host their 5th Annual Hurricane Preparedness Open House, Saturday, June 1st, from 10AM to 2PM at the African-American Research Library, 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale for all Broward County residents.
