Broward County has completed a national sustainability assessment that accounts for more than 500 community-wide metrics. Once again, Broward is recognized nationally for excellence in sustainability based on the STAR Community Rating System. It is my honor to support Broward’s commitment to local sustainability and emphasis on data-driven processes to measure performance. The initiatives included in the assessment benefit the community by improving everything from residents’ safety, school procedures, emergency responses, and more. The year-long effort involved nearly one hundred County staff, city liaisons and community partners, led by Broward County’s Environmental Planning and Community Resilience Division.
