July 6th was a sad day for the country of Haiti and for all our Haitian brothers and sisters as their President Jovenel Moise was assassinated while he was sleeping and his wife First Lady Martine Moise, was severely injured due to the massive gunfire. This is why we need a permanent stance on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and immigration for people of Haitian descent seeking asylum here in America. If a Democratically elected president can be assassinated, then there’s concrete evidence that our immigration policy on TPS must be changed now before other barbaric acts of violence are realized.
